Links and Metaphors

  • I think this is kind of a shocker. American Floyd Landis won the Tour de France.  Congratulations!  Late in the race, during the second stage of Alpine mountains, Landis had fallen from first place to 11th before a miraculous run in the final Alps stage the following day. He later assured his victory with a great time trial run on Saturday. On the ride to the Champs-Elysees Sunday, Landis began sipping the champagne early in the ride, a long-time tour tradition.
  • I feel like getting out on my bike.  Haven't been out in over a week.  But the temperatures here have been 106 degrees.  Er, uh...  NO THANKS!
  • Uh oh, guys.  Sharing a bed can make men dullWhen men spend the night in the same bed with someone else their sleep patterns are disturbed, even if they do not have sex. This leads to poorer performance in intelligence tests the next day.  I'm not sure what to make of this.  I wonder who came up with the idea of studying this?
  • Roger on the Tour de France and investing.  The only place you'll find a better metaphor, is at White Goodman's Globo Gym.
  • In my last blog entry, I noted how Bill Cara had a different more upbeat take on Dell.  Jeff Mathews thinks that Dell's troubles aren't over yet!  Ticker Sense also weighs in.
  • I'm so sunburned. Geez.
  • Another trading metaphor at TraderFeed analyzing "salmon days" in the market.  Hey, it's Metaphor Weekend!
  • Tale of the Tape goes over the extremely bearish AAII sentiment numbers.
  • On with the weekend!
  • Oh, Tiger Woods wins the British open by 2! I'm sure there's a political joke we can come up with since Americans win in England and France, but... eh.
